Code of Conduct for Students

  1. Student-teachers, the future builders of the nation, are expected to maintain the highest standards of discipline and dignified behaviour inside and outside the College campus, abiding by all rules and regulations.
  2. A six-day working schedule (Monday to Saturday) is followed. Classes are from 9.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. Attendance is compulsory in the Assembly held on the first day of the week.
  3. All students must be present in class well within time. Late comers will lose attendance for the corresponding hour.
  4. Students shall rise when the teacher enters and remain standing until permitted to sit. Silence shall be observed during class hours.
  5. No student shall enter or leave the classroom during a session without the permission of the teacher concerned.
  6. During student seminars / project presentations, all students of the concerned class must be present for the entire session.
  7. Students shall leave classes immediately after 4.30 p.m. and not gather in verandahs, corridors or staircases, nor spend much time in the canteen.
  8. All leave applications (regular & medical) must be submitted in time for sanction. Medical leave must be accompanied by valid medical certificates.
  9. Students shall wear the approved uniform โ€” formal shirts tucked into trousers with a black belt and black shoes. Rubber/plastic chappals are not permitted.
  10. No alterations to the college uniform are allowed without the permission of the concerned HoD.
  11. All students shall attend college functions in uniform unless otherwise specified.
  12. Identity cards must be worn and well displayed at all times; denial of inspection invites disciplinary action.
  13. Tattooing, body piercing and hairstyling against social/academic norms will be referred to the discipline committee.
  14. Any dress-code violation within the campus will initiate disciplinary action.
  15. As per Government order and green initiatives, students shall not bring powered vehicles (except cycles) inside the campus.
  16. Students must maintain silence in academic buildings to preserve decorum and avoid deviant behaviour.
  17. Students are encouraged to use the library and computing facilities and to engage in authorised professional activities beyond class hours.
  18. Access to academic buildings beyond timings or on holidays without written permission is treated as indiscipline.
  19. Keep the campus neat and clean. Littering anywhere except waste baskets invites a minimum fine of โ‚น100.
  20. Consumption of intoxicants, smoking, chewing gum, pan masala or psychotropic substances in any form is strictly prohibited.
  21. Unauthorised celebrations and decorations of any magnitude in the campus are not permitted.
  22. Students are expected to make optimum use of academic, co-curricular and extracurricular facilities.
  23. Students representing the college in intercollegiate events must take prior permission; selection is based on academic performance, attendance, character and competence.
  24. Every department shall elect a student as class representative.
  25. Political activity, unauthorised meetings, propaganda, processions or fund collection are forbidden within and outside the college.
  26. Harassing juniors or ill-treating fellow students (ragging) is a criminal offence as per the directives of the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India.
  27. Violation of rules invites penalty โ€” warning, fine, summoning of parents or other corrective measures decided by the higher authority.
  28. Being a professional training course, 80% attendance is compulsory for Teacher Education.
  29. Staff members are empowered to initiate disciplinary procedures for any non-compliance or behaviour deviating from the institution's vision and mission.
