In addition to the general information mentioned at i to x above, the institution may highlight the following if it so desired:


Our humble beginning dawned in Puducherry almost two decades ago with 500 students joining Vivekanandha Higher Secondary School in a rented building. Today this school is housed with all infrastructures sprawling over an area of 5 acres with more than 4000 students. This school is considered to be one among the top schools in Puducherry.

Vivekanandha College of Education. took it’s inception in the year 2005 in a separate three storeyed building within the campus on the East Coast Road (ECR). The approved strength of B.Ed. students is 100. The Principal and the Faculty are well qualified with adequate experience. Our students have been achieving significantly good results and 80 % passed out as full fledged teachers crediting name and fame to the our Institution. As per the Revised Regulations of 2014 by the NCTE, the duration of the B.Ed. course is for two years with two units of 100 students from the academic year 2015-17 .


Identifying the hidden talent in a child is an art and grooming this talent through scientific methods makes the student achieve great results, which inspire the entire teaching fraternity of Vivekanandha group.

The indispensable values, sense of learning community, the shared goals, the pride of achievement, the exchange of ideas and skills bind the student and the teacher in a web of loyalty and mutual responsibility. Vivekanandha provides a safe and first class teaching / learning environment that includes comprehensive curriculum, innovative faculty and equipments.


To develop and infuse the sense of selfless service among the Teacher-Trainees imbued with the values of moral education for character building in the minds and hearts of the learning community as a matter of prime importance to stabilize the humanitarian unity in diversity.

To equip the Teacher Trainees in the application of advanced learning strategies;
To enable them to use the effective application of ICT in teaching learning situation.
To mould them as creative members of the society by developing the capacity to deal with complex matters.
To involve them as the agents for social change with moral values.
To create awareness to play their role effectively in the process of nation building.
